Ghaziabad: Aiming to curb the menace of traffic in inner parts of the city, the much awaited fly-over at Vasundhara cut in Ghaziabad was thrown open to public by Minister of state for road transport and highways Ret. Gen V K Singh on Thursday.The project which has been funded by Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA)’s infrastructure fund and constructed by UP bridge corporation has been completed in a record time of 14 months, said GDA officials. Also Read – Cylinder blast kills mother and daughter in Karawal NagarSpeaking on the occasion, the minister said that the project could be completed in record time because of good coordination between different agencies like the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), the Municipal Corporation, the district administration and the state highway authorities. “There are several other infrastructural projects in the city which are undergoing construction while some are in their last stage. Each project has its own significance and is will contribute to all round development of the District. We will ensure a full support from the government into these projects,” said Singh. Also Read – Two persons arrested for killing manager of Muthoot FinanceAs per a senior GDA officer, the construction work at newly inaugurated flyover started in April 2018 and got completed in May 2019. “The 586 meters long six-lane flyover project has been completed in record time which is itself an milestone for GDA. The total cost for the construction of project is Rs 49 crores and is aimed to curb the menace of traffic in the area. The flyover will majorly benefit the residents of Trans hindon area including Vasundhara and indirapuram as it will end the traffic jam at Vasundhara crossing. The flyover will also provide an unhindered traffic movement from Mohan Nagar to Vasundhara saving nearly 10-15 minutes while travelling to inner parts of the city,” said V N Singh, Chief Engineer, GDA. At the inaugural ceremony, apart from the minister, Ghaziabad Mayor Asha Sharma, MLA Sahibabad Sunil Kumar Sharma, GDA Vice-Chairperson Kanchan Verma, Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ritu Maheshwari and other senior GDA and municipal officials were present.
