first_imgTwo women managed to escape from the building before emergency services arrivedCredit:Nick Ansell/PA Wire Two women managed to escape from the building before emergency services arrived and were taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.The victims were named locally as Alina Kordaszewska, 41, and her 12-year-old daughter Emilia Kordaszewska.Neighbours also named the two women who escaped the blaze as Alina’s teenage daughter Milena Kordaszewska and her mother Alicja Kordaszewska-Tom, 63.Alina’s husband and the father of Emilia and Milena is understood to be Rafal Kordaszewska, also 41. Friends have turned up at the scene to leave floral tributes.Justyna Rogulka and Rafal Bogonos had worked with Alina for eight years at CorpComms, a corporate communication centre.Mr Bogonos said: “It was a shock, a massive shock for all of us. I can’t bear it. They were just a normal family, they were very polite.”I really knew Alina because we have been working with her for eight years. She was such a lovely, bubbly person, She was always smiling. A woman and child, believed to be mother and daughter, have died in a house fire.Emergency services were called to the property in Braintree, Essex, shortly before 10.45pm on Wednesday but the pair were trapped inside and died at the scene, Essex Police said. I literally spoke to her a couple of days ago and I said how are you doing for the preparation for Christmas?”She said ‘yeah I am still far away’.
