Progress being made on three Health Centres

first_imgDeputy Pat the Cope Gallagher has welcomed the progress being made on three different health centres within the county. The confirmation came from the HSE that centres for Dunfanaghy and Donegal Town are being progressed through Public/Private Partnerships while a new health centre for Burtonport has been approved and will be located in a newly refurbished state of the art building at the pier.Deputy Gallagher said this is all welcome news as each of these communities greatly require new facilities for the delivery of health services – from GP facilities to community nursing to speech and language services. He added that a new health centre at Dunfanaghy is urgently required and today’s confirmation that a PP contract is to be awarded certainly is welcomed news.Donegal Town has also been approved for a new Health Centre through a PP contract and works will now progress through planning to construction stage. He said “These centres will provide all the needed facilities that a modern day health centre must have in order to meet the needs and demands of their respective communities.“The centre in Burtonport is in the final stages as a great deal of work has been carried out on the building. The new centre is ideally located and finished to a very high standard which will be of immense benefit to the area.” The Fianna Fail deputy added it is only right that the HSE invest heavily in these centres, for many it is these health centres which are the first port of call in order to receive healthcare, be that the local GP, Community nurse, language therapy or other vital health care services.“I have worked closely with others in order to get these projects progressed to today’s stage. Funding for health centres is solid and worthwhile investments in health care and today’s confirmation is good news for Dunfanaghy, Burtonport and Donegal Town,” concluded Pat the Cope.Progress being made on three Health Centres was last modified: March 16th, 2018 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:donegalhealth centreslast_img read more
