Toshiba shows off sexy AMOLED 77inch Tegra 3 tablet the AT270

first_imgThough it was starting to appear that way, not every product on display at MWC 2012 has been leaked or officially revealed in advance of the show. Toshiba, for example, is showing off a previously unannounced addition to its tablet line-up: a snazzy little 7.7 inch model carrying the name AT270.Unlike their current 7- and 10-inch Thrive offerings, this new model doesn’t feature a thick, grippy rubber back. Instead, its rear panel is textured, gold-tone plastic. The result is a much lighter tablet, though one that still packs plenty of power. That’s to be expected with an Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC under the hood. Unfortunately, the handlers at Laptop Mag weren’t able to uncover other hardware specifics during their brief hands-on, but that might not matter at this stage of the game anyway. This is, after all, a model that hasn’t been announced — so its final specs could vary greatly from what’s being shown in Barcelona. While specs weren’t revealed beyond the fact it has a 1.5GHz quad core chip, the tablet churned out Bladeslinger with aplomb. Graphics were crisp and smooth on the 7.7-inch, 1280 x 800 display, and understandably so. Pairing the Tegra 3’s graphical muscle with a 196ppi screen (roughly 40ppi better than the same resolution on a 10.1 inch tablet) should provide a beautiful result. As nice as the display is on the 7.7-inch Toshiba, the slab of glossy glass on top means you probably won’t be using this little beaut outside all that often (or in harsh direct light).Keep your eyes on this post if you’re looking for additional specifics — we’ll update if Toshiba decides to offer up additional info about this tablet.via Laptop Maglast_img read more
